A Message from Our Principal
Dear Families, Parents, and Students,
On behalf of our entire staff, we would like to welcome our new kindergarten and preschool students and our returning first, second, third and fourth grade students!
This year we hired several new teachers and administrators: Principal TW Cunningham and Vice Principal Jennifer Aranguena; Megan Finlayson and Brandy Villagomez in kindergarten, Mark Reyes and Elsa Spence in first grade, Staci Morquecho and Susan Collins in third grade; Kayli Roth in fourth grade. Yesika Bautista joins the ELL department and Julie Landon joins the third grade. Jennifer Brown and Shannon Mata joins the SPED department. Sara Smith will do speech, and Yesenia Reynoso will be our nurse. Rachel Craig will teach art, Kevin Davis will teach music, Corey Hercshel will teach PE, and Ana Carrillo will help as an aide. We are excited to have all of them joining us!
School will begin at 8:20 a.m. and end at 3:10 p.m. every day. Breakfast will start at 7:45 a.m. this school year in the lunch room. No breakfast items will go to class.
Please feel welcome to call your teacher or the office about any concerns related to the school. We truly feel that students have the best chance to succeed when parents and teachers work together. We invite all of you to call and visit frequently to observe your child’s classroom teacher. Parent volunteers are always welcome and needed to help in the classroom. Check with the teacher and let them know of your availability.
We here at Southside are eager to start the new school year and look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the education of your children.
TW Cunningham
